How to Calculate Percentages
A percentage is a fraction out of 100. This calculator handles the three most common percentage questions:
X% of Y = (X × Y) ÷ 100
X is what % of Y = (X ÷ Y) × 100
% change = ((New − Old) ÷ Old) × 100
Examples
- 25% of 200 = (25 × 200) ÷ 100 = 50
- 50 is what % of 200 = (50 ÷ 200) × 100 = 25%
- Change from 200 to 250 = ((250 − 200) ÷ 200) × 100 = +25%

How do I add a percentage to a number?
